Welcome
Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.
Hi Ya!
Hi there! I’m Carolyn McCully, and I’m excited to be heading into my 17th year of teaching in the Cobb County School District. My background is deeply rooted in literacy and reading instruction, a true passion of mine. In fact, I genuinely love to read, typically diving into at least 50 books a year!
My Journey
My teaching journey has been wonderfully diverse. I spent 8 years teaching middle schoolers, covering everything from remedial to honors classes, and another 9 years working with high school students, ranging from ninth to twelfth grade, including advanced placement. I am a Reading, English, and AP Research Teacher.
My Experience
Beyond the classroom, I’ve also had the valuable opportunity to support fellow educators by providing professional development at both the school and district levels. My previous roles as an instructional coach for literacy and department chair for a Reading Department and Gifted Department further honed my skills in curriculum development and fostering teaching excellence. Educationally, I hold a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education from Kennesaw State University, complemented by various specialized certifications (AP, Reading, C&I, 6-12 ENGLISH).

My Home
When I’m not immersed in the world of education or snuggled up with a captivating fantasy or mystery novel, you’ll find me enjoying life in Marietta, Georgia, with my wonderful husband and our two delightful dogs—a lively Schnauzer and an adorable Boston. I also love spending time with friends and family: baking, crocheting, playing board games, or simply embracing my inner nerd/geek.
Their names are Odin, he is a three-year-old Boston, and Doc, who is an eight-year-old Schnauzer.
